Dr. Chang's DC fat transfer breast augmentation is accomplished by transferring fat harvested from another area of your body. This is an excellent, natural alternative to implants. By using your own fat cells, you will have an

incredibly natural look and feel to your breasts after surgery. This procedure is perfect if you are looking for a slight increase in volume with very natural results, as opposed to surgical breast augmentation, which can provide more drastic results.

Benefits of fat transfer breast augmentation

One of the greatest benefits of a fat transfer breast augmentation is that it utilizes your own fat to add volume to your breasts. Some of the other benefits are as follows:

  • Natural looking and feeling breasts
  • Less scarring than with augmentation with silicone implants
  • Simultaneously reduces fat in other areas such as the abdomen, love handles, thighs, or buttocks
  • Long-lasting results
  • Slimmed figure with larger breasts

Am I a candidate for fat transfer breast augmentation?

You may be a candidate for Dr. Chang's fat transfer breast augmentation in Washington DC if you are seeking to moderately increase the volume of your breasts and are looking for a natural, soft, result. Candidates for fat transfer breast augmentation should also:

You can schedule a consultation with Dr. Christopher Chang to see if fat transfer breast augmentation is a good option for you.

The fat transfer breast augmentation procedure

The administration of an anesthetic is the first step, followed by liposuction in the donor area.

With liposuction, lidocaine is first used in the treatment area to reduce the sensation in that area. Once the fat has been harvested from the donor area it will be strategically injected into your breasts. This procedure does not require incisions, only small round punctures for the gentle fat extraction, after which it is purified and injected at several depths in the breast.

After your surgery you will wear a compression garment to help reduce swelling and to support your enhanced breasts. Plan on having someone drive you home after the procedure.

What is the recovery time?

During the first 48 hours following your DC fat transfer breast augmentation procedure, you will feel some discomfort in the treatment areas, and you may feel tired. It is best to have minimally one week off from work to recover although some people take up to two, especially if their work is quite physically demanding or strenuous.

What should I expect during the recovery period?

There will be some bruising and swelling, and your breasts may feel tight and swollen. Ice packs or cold compresses can help to alleviate swelling during this time. You will continue to heal, and your results will develop over the following months. The fat that has been transferred to your breasts will take time to settle and become stable and healthy. You can expect about forty to fifty percent of the transferred fat to begin to flourish in the new location, becoming a natural part of your body. The rest of the fat cells are merely absorbed by your body.

When will I see the results?

You will begin to see the results of the procedure immediately. You will notice a slimmer contour if the fat was harvested from your waist, you’ll see a slimmer waistline. You will also notice the increased size in your breasts right away. As you recover you will continue to see those initial results get better, especially as the swelling subsides and your body heals. You will notice that your slimmer contour becomes even more as the swelling subsides. You can expect about a one-cup size increase.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19 View Update Virtual Consultation

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Updated April 2nd, 2020

After serious consideration and in line with the recommendations of our State and Centers for Disease Control (CDC), we are closing the practice until April 24th.

Your health and well-being is our primary concern and we want to do our part to make sure that you are protected.

Effective immediately the following will occur:

  • All procedures and in-person consultations will be suspended until at least April 24th.
  • The office will be minimally or remotely staffed, and we will see our urgent post-surgical follow-ups.
  • We are instituting Virtual Consultations for all potential patients.
  • Many surgeries are rescheduled and some of the ones that are committed will occur on a per case basis.
  • No patient will have any financial recourse for rescheduling their procedures.

We are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and will always place your health and well-being as our top priority.

We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by the CDC. These include:

  • Staff have been fully informed and trained to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • All staff, vendors and ancillary personnel are being asked to refrain from coming to this office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Every patient is also being asked to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms.
  • We are asking our patients about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is a part of what we constantly do, now we are doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • We have instituted a “no handshakes no hug” policy for now.
  • We have asked all vendors that any unnecessary meetings are canceled until further notice.
  • Any exit and entrance from our office are followed by a protocol of changing shoes, scrubs and sanitization.
  • As we are an accredited medical facility, we are constantly sanitizing all surfaces. We have now vamped that up and our routine, multiple times a day, wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities. We have assigned a person that does so on a constant basis.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this Country even better than it currently is. We are monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will not sit back until we know that we have done everything possible to avoid unnecessary exposure.
