Meet Dr. Chang
Dr. Christopher C. Chang is a plastic surgeon who specializes in facial and cosmetic surgery in the Washington, DC area. He has advanced degrees and training from some of the most selective universities in the country. After receiving his bachelors degree from Harvard University, he attended the NYU School of Medicine. While in New York, he worked at the Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery under the direction of Dr. Joseph G. McCarthy, and world-renowned faculty. During his time there, he received many accolades and was then selected to the 6-year integrated general and plastic surgery residency at Yale University. While at Yale-New Haven Hospital, he was influenced by an extensive craniofacial and cosmetic experience with his chairman, Dr. John A. Persing. Dr. Chang then completed a fellowship in advanced craniofacial surgery for adults and children at the Johns Hopkins Hospital/University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Dr. Chang’s expertise is evidenced by his work at the forefront of translational medicine. He has participated in medical science research since the mid 1990’s and worked at leading institutes including the Bethesda National Naval Medical Center, National Institues of Health, Harvard Medical School, Boston Children’s Hospital, NYU Plastic Surgery Laboratory for Microvascular Tissue Engineering, and Yale University School of Medicine.
He has co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters, and has presented at regional, national and international meetings in plastic surgery.
Dr. Chang is involved in the national meetings of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Cleft Lip and Palate Association. He is also a candidate member of the National Capital Society chapter of the best plastic surgeons in Northern VA, MD, and Washington, DC. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is board-certified.
Dr. Chang is a Washington, DC area native and resides in Bethesda, MD with his wife and three children.
